VMC Operator (Vertical Machining Center Operator)

Job Summary:Operate and monitor Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate VMC machines
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Load raw materials and secure them properly in the machine
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools
• Input CNC programs or load pre-written programs
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy
• Measure finished parts using instruments like:
• 
  
• Vernier calipers
• Micrometers
• Height gauges
• Dial indicators
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning
• Identify and report machine malfunctions
• Maintain production records and documentation
• Follow safety procedures and company policies
• Required Skills & QualificationsITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code & M-code)
• Understanding of machining processes and tooling
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Knowledge of measuring instruments
• Basic computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Good problem-solving skills
