VMC OPERATOR / PROGRAMMER

Job Title: VMC Operator / Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled VMC Operator / Programmer to set up, operate, and program Vertical Machining Centers for precision machining of components. The candidate should have strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes to ensure high-quality production.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor VMC machines for production tasks
• Create and modify CNC programs (G-code / M-code)
• Set up machines, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
• Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters
• Perform first-piece inspection and ensure quality standards
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize cycle times
• Maintain machine cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance
• Coordinate with design and quality teams for process improvements
• Ensure adherence to safety and company policies
• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
• 2–5 years of experience in VMC operation and programming
• Proficiency in CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens / Haas controls)
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM)
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Familiarity with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, etc.)
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience in 3-axis / 4-axis machining
• Knowledge of tool path optimization
• Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Experience in production environment
