Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Cleaning and Maintenance of Guest Rooms:

a. Clean and service guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and

cleaning bathrooms.

b. Replenish guest supplies, such as towels, toiletries, and minibar items, as needed.

c. Ensure that all guest rooms are presented to the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards

before check-in.

• Public Area Cleaning:

a. Maintain the cleanliness of public areas, such as lobbies, corridors, elevators, and restrooms, by

regularly cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.

b. Ensure that all public areas are tidy, well-maintained, and free of debris or obstructions.

c. Respond promptly to guest requests for additional services or items in public areas.

• Linen and Laundry Management:

a. Collect and sort used linens, towels, and other laundry items for washing.

b. Restock clean linens in housekeeping carts and storage areas.

c. Report any damage or loss of linens to the housekeeping supervisor.

• Guest Service and Interaction:

a. Respond to guest requests for additional items, such as extra towels or pillows, in a timely and

courteous manner.

b. Provide assistance to guests by offering directions, answering questions, and fulfilling special

requests.

c. Report any guest complaints or issues to the housekeeping supervisor for prompt resolution.

• Room Inspection and Reporting:

a. Inspect rooms for any maintenance issues or damage, such as broken fixtures or

malfunctioning equipment, and report them to the maintenance department.

b. Report any lost and found items to the housekeeping supervisor, following hotel procedures.

c. Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed according to the hotel’s standards and checklists.

• Compliance and Safety:

a. Follow all hotel safety and security procedures, including proper handling of cleaning

chemicals and equipment.

b. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.

c. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the housekeeping supervisor immediately.

• Team Collaboration:

a. Work closely with other housekeeping staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and on

time.

b. Assist with training new housekeepers by demonstrating proper cleaning techniques and hotel

procedures.

c. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

This is not an individual contributor role. Does not take any decisions.

Work is closely monitored by the manager, detailed instructions and procedures and guidelines for

generations of various reports are generally provided.

Results are defined and the position sets own goals and determines how to accomplish them.

Supervisor/manager provides broad guidelines and overall direction.
