Job Description: Design Draughtsman - Fire Protection System

Position: Design Draughtsman - Fire Protection System

Location: Ambernath

Experience: Minimum 2+ years in designing and creating shop drawings for fire protection systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Drafting:

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for water, foam, and gas fire protection systems.

• Create accurate and detailed shop drawings based on project requirements and industry standards.

• Technical Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for fire protection system designs.

• Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant fire protection codes, standards, and regulations.

• Coordination:

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure the integration of fire protection systems with overall building designs.

• Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to address any design-related issues during the project lifecycle.

• Software Utilization:

• Utilize design software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant programs to create and modify drawings.

• Implement the use of Aconex, EDMS, and other document management systems as needed.

• Quality Assurance:

• Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.

• Conduct quality checks and ensure that all designs adhere to safety and quality standards.

• Project Support:

• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and reports.

• Support project teams with technical expertise during the planning, design, and construction phases.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, standards, and advancements in fire protection systems.

• Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in designing and drafting fire protection systems, including water, foam, and gas systems.

• Software Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software. Experience with Aconex, EDMS, and similar document management systems is preferred.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire protection standards, codes, and regulations.

• Skills: Excellent drafting and design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.

• Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve design issues efficiently and effectively.

Additional Information:

• Notice Period: Preference for candidates who can join immediately (0-10 days notice period).

• Preferred Experience: Candidates with experience in building projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial projects, and those with an engineering consultancy background.
