Structural Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to plan, design, and supervise structures for eco-tourism and adventure sports projects. The role involves working in challenging terrains and ensuring maximum safety, sustainability, and compliance while designing innovative, low-impact structures.

This position is critical for structures such as glamping tents, decks, tree houses, watch towers, rope course structures, zipline supports, suspension elements, viewing platforms, cottages, and lightweight civil structures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Structural Design & Planning

Design safe and efficient structures for eco-tourism and adventure activities.

Structural analysis for temporary, semi-permanent, and permanent structures.

Design foundations suitable for sloped terrain, rocky soil, forest land, and uneven ground.

Optimize designs to minimize environmental impact and material usage.

Prepare structural drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

2. Adventure & Safety-Critical Structures

Structural safety analysis for adventure installations such as:

Zipline towers and anchor systems

Rope courses and climbing structures

Elevated decks and platforms

Suspension bridges and viewing towers

Ensure structures meet load, wind, seismic, and dynamic force requirements.

Incorporate redundancy and fail-safe principles in design.

3. Site Supervision & Execution

Visit project sites to guide and supervise structural execution.

Coordinate with civil teams, fabricators, welders, and site supervisors.

Ensure execution as per approved drawings and safety standards.

Identify site challenges and modify designs where required without compromising safety.

4. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes, safety norms, and local regulations.

Prepare structural stability certificates where required.

Maintain design calculations, drawings, and project documentation.

Assist in approvals and technical audits if required.

5. Cost Optimization & Sustainability

Suggest cost-effective structural systems without compromising safety.

Promote use of steel, timber, bamboo, and hybrid eco-friendly structures.

Balance durability, maintenance, and aesthetics in design decisions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering

M.E./M.Tech (Structural Engineering) preferred

3–8 years of experience in structural design and site execution

Experience in steel structures, decks, towers, foundations, and lightweight structures

Exposure to hill-area or remote-site projects is a strong advantage

Technical Skills

Structural analysis and design software (ETABS / STAAD / SAFE or equivalent)

Strong knowledge of IS codes (concrete, steel, loads, seismic, wind)

Understanding of geotechnical considerations for uneven terrain

Ability to read and produce detailed structural drawings

Practical problem-solving for site constraints
