Reports To: Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor


Job Summary:


The Mechanical Engineering Trainee Operator will work closely with senior engineers and technicians to gain practical experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment. The role involves learning the technical aspects of the machinery used, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and supporting the engineering team in various operational tasks.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Operation of Machinery:


Assist in the setup, operation, and monitoring of mechanical systems and machinery.


Ensure machines are functioning correctly and perform routine inspections.




2. Maintenance Support:


Help with the scheduled maintenance and servicing of equipment to prevent breakdowns.


Assist in identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues under the guidance of senior staff.




3. Safety Compliance:


Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and handling tools.


Report any hazards or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.




4. Documentation and Reporting:


Maintain accurate records of machine operations, maintenance activities, and incidents.


Assist in compiling reports on equipment performance and maintenance requirements.




5. Technical Assistance:


Support engineers and technicians with technical tasks such as assembly, disassembly, and calibration of equipment.


Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems.

Requirements:


Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


Basic understanding of mechanical systems and machinery.


Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.


Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.


Knowledge of safety practices in an industrial setting is an advantage.



Preferred Skills:


Experience with basic mechanical tools and equipment.


Familiarity with industrial machinery operation and maintenance procedures.


Good communication and teamwork skills.
