Job Description

General Manager - Sales for Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) leads sales strategy, team management, and market penetration for HCVs, focusing on achieving targets, managing budgets, building dealer/customer networks (fleet owners), analyzing market trends, and driving profitability through strategic planning, BTL activities, and strong customer/stakeholder relations, essentially bridging product, sales, and financial goals for the segment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies, forecast sales, set aggressive yet realistic goals, manage budgets, and conduct market research for HCVs.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage the commercial sales team, ensuring high performance and product knowledge.
  • Sales Operations: Drive sales volume, expand market share, manage BTL activities (customer meets), and close large fleet deals.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key clients, fleet owners, transporters, dealers, and manufacturers; act as a link for product feedback.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, analyze market trends, monitor competitor activity, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage department expenses, ensure profitability, and handle financial aspects of sales. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial vehicle sales management.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset, data-driven approach, and proficiency with CRM software.
  • Deep understanding of the HCV market, industry regulations, and customer needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
