Job Description

A Finance Executive (or F&I Manager) in an auto dealership helps customers get financing for cars, acts as a link with banks, sells related products (warranties, insurance), prepares all legal/financial paperwork, ensures regulatory compliance, and aims to meet sales goals while maximizing dealership revenue and customer satisfaction. Key duties involve credit checks, structuring deals, managing lender relations, and handling post-sale documentation, requiring strong sales, communication, and compliance skills. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Financing: Assess customer financial needs, evaluate credit, present loan/lease options, and guide them through the application process.
  • Lender Relations: Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure competitive rates and terms.
  • Product Sales: Sell additional products like extended warranties, service contracts, credit insurance, and anti-theft devices.
  • Documentation: Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of all financing, legal, and sales contracts, adhering to federal/state laws.
  • Deal Structuring: Collaborate with sales teams to structure profitable and compliant deals, including turning around declined deals.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, maintain confidentiality, and manage finance department reporting.
  • Revenue Generation: Meet monthly goals for finance penetration, product sales, and customer satisfaction (CSI). 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Business (preferred).
  • Experience: Previous F&I, banking, or sales experience in auto.
  • Skills: Sales, negotiation, credit analysis, problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of financial products, regulations, and dealership operations. 

Role in the Dealership

  • Acts as an intermediary between the customer, sales team, and lenders.
  • Focuses on maximizing profit while ensuring a positive customer journey.
