Quality Inspector

Job Purpose

To ensure all Rexine products meet physical and chemical specifications through rigorous testing, while simultaneously collecting and analyzing production data to identify trends, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Testing & Quality Control

• Physical Testing: Perform standard tests on Rexine samples, including Tensile Strength, Elongation, Peel Adhesion, and Martindale Abrasion resistance.
• Chemical Analysis: Test PVC/PU coatings for viscosity, solid content, and color matching using Spectrophotometers.
• Flame Retardancy: Conduct fire-resistance tests as per automotive or upholstery standards.
• Sample Management: Maintain a systematic library of "Golden Samples" and batch retains for future reference. 

2. Analytical Data Collection

• Real-time Tracking: Collect hourly production data including machine speeds, oven temperatures, and coating thickness (GSM).
• Waste Analysis: Record and categorize "seconds" or rejected material to identify the root causes of defects (e.g., pinholes, shade variation, or fabric creasing).
• Batch Consistency: Monitor raw material consumption versus output to calculate yield efficiency. 

3. Data Analysis & Reporting

• Trend Identification: Use Excel or ERP software to create charts showing quality trends over time.
• Root Cause Analysis: Provide analytical support for "Troubleshooting" when a batch fails, linking lab results back to specific production parameters.
• Daily Briefing: Prepare a concise daily report summarizing "Pass/Fail" rates and significant deviations in the production process. 

Technical Skills & Qualifications

The perfect candidate for this role is someone who is comfortable in a lab coat performing tests, but equally happy sitting at a computer looking for patterns in the data. In the Rexine industry, small changes in oven temperature can ruin thousands of meters of fabric; this person is the "early warning system" for the factory.
