Job Title: Site Civil Engineer (Fresher)

Location: Project Site

Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Engineer

Role Summary

The Site Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising day-to-day construction activities at site and ensuring execution strictly as per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards. The engineer will coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure quality, timeline, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Site Execution & Supervision

  •  Execute construction work as per approved architectural & structural drawings.

  •  Ensure correct layout marking using drawings and reference points.

  •  Supervise shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, plaster, flooring, waterproofing, etc.

  •  Monitor daily progress and ensure work as per schedule.

2️⃣ Drawing & Technical Understanding

  •  Study and understand structural, architectural, and service drawings.

  •  Identify drawing discrepancies and report to senior engineer.

  •  Ensure dimensions and levels are maintained as per drawings.

3️⃣ Quality Control

  •  Check material quality before use (cement, steel, aggregates, bricks, etc.).

  •  Ensure proper mix ratios and curing procedures.

  •  Maintain quality checklists and site inspection records.

4️⃣ Measurement & Billing

  •  Take site measurements for contractor billing.

  •  Maintain daily progress report (DPR).

  •  Verify quantities executed at site.

5️⃣ Coordination

  •  Coordinate with:

   •  Contractors & labour teams

   •  Consultants

   •  Suppliers

   •  Electrical & plumbing teams

  •  Ensure smooth workflow between trades.

6️⃣ Safety & Compliance

  •  Ensure workers follow safety protocols.

  •  Monitor use of PPE (helmets, harness, safety shoes).

  •  Report unsafe practices immediately.

7️⃣ Material & Site Management

  •  Monitor material consumption.

  •  Maintain site inventory record.

  •  Prevent wastage and theft.

8️⃣ Documentation

  •  Maintain site register.

  •  Keep updated drawings at site.

  •  Record delays, issues, and instructions in site diary.

Skills Required

  •  Basic knowledge of construction processes.

  •  Ability to read AutoCAD drawings.

  •  Good communication skills.

  •  Basic knowledge of MS Excel & reporting.

  •  Practical problem-solving ability.

  •  Willingness to stay at site full time.

Qualification

  •  B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering

  •  0–2 years experience (Freshers can apply)
