Painter

Job Summary:

The Furniture Painter is responsible for preparing, finishing, and painting wooden furniture components and completed products to achieve the desired finish, quality, and color as per project specifications. The role involves surface preparation, color mixing, spray painting, and polishing while maintaining high-quality standards and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surface Preparation:

• Sand, smooth, and clean wooden furniture surfaces before applying paint or polish.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints using appropriate materials to ensure a smooth surface.
• Apply primer, sealer, and undercoats as required.

2. Painting and Finishing:

• Mix paints, stains, and finishes to match specified colors or shades.
• Apply paints, stains, lacquers, or polyurethane finishes using spray guns, brushes, or rollers.
• Ensure even coating and color consistency across all furniture parts.
• Perform touch-ups, polishing, and rework as needed.

3. Quality Control:

• Inspect painted surfaces for runs, sags, uneven coverage, or other defects.
• Ensure the final finish meets design and company standards.
• Maintain color and finish samples for future reference.

4. Tools and Equipment Maintenance:

• Maintain and clean painting tools, spray guns, and equipment after each use.
• Monitor inventory of paints, thinners, and other consumables, reporting shortages in time.

5. Safety and Housekeeping:

• Follow all safety procedures for handling paints, thinners, and chemicals.
• Wear appropriate PPE (mask, gloves, apron, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized painting area.
• Qualifications & Skills:Education: SSLC / ITI / Diploma in Painting or related trade.
• Experience: Minimum 2–5 years in furniture or wood finishing industry.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of spray painting techniques (NC, PU, Melamine, etc.).
• Understanding of surface preparation and color matching.
• Ability to identify and correct surface defects.
• Familiarity with finishing equipment and maintenance.
• Attention to detail and quality focus.
