Manager - Electrical

Responsibilities

As the Manager - Electrical, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities aimed at optimizing the electrical functions of the thermal power plant. Your leadership will be critical in ensuring seamless electrical operations, adherence to safety standards, and the successful execution of capital projects. Your role encompasses planning, execution, and continuous improvement with a focus on cost-effectiveness and operational excellence.

  • Electrical Systems Management: Lead the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Project Implementation: Plan and oversee electrical project execution including installation, commissioning, and upgrades of electrical equipment in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and enhance equipment longevity, employing condition monitoring techniques and predictive analytics.
  • Safety and Compliance: Champion electrical safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including adherence to environmental and occupational health standards.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and innovation to build a high-performance team.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Prepare and manage the electrical department budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders for procurement, technical support, and efficient execution of electrical projects and maintenance activities.
  • Technical Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, electrical system performance, and incident reports, and present regular updates to senior management.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process improvements, energy efficiency, and implementation of new technologies consistent with Adani’s sustainability goals.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement response protocols for electrical emergencies, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on plant operations.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Master’s Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering is desirable.
Certification Required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certification in Electrical Safety and High Voltage Systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is an advantage.
