Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with 3 – 5 years of experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and developing 3D models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation for mechanical components and machinery. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturing, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·        Develop and modify 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.

·        Create assembly models, BOMs, exploded views, and technical documentation.

·        Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and component selection as needed.

·        Collaborate with electrical, automation, and production teams to ensure design feasibility.

·        Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs.

·        Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality procedures.

·        Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement.

·        Work with suppliers to evaluate manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of components.

·        Manage design changes through the ECN/Revision control process.

·        Provide technical support to manufacturing and commissioning teams during build and installation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·        Diploma in mechanical engineering or related field.

·        3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design.

·        Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Drawings, Sheet Metal, Weldments).

·        Understanding of GD&T, engineering standards, and manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, sheet metal, etc.).

·        Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings.

·        Knowledge of material selection, mechanical systems, and basic calculations.

·        Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and design for manufacturability (DFM).

·        Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in designing mechanisms, packaging machinery.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM systems.
• Understanding of basic FEA simulations in SolidWorks (Simulation).
• Exposure to manufacturing or shop floor activities.
• Ability to handle multiple design tasks in a fast-paced environment.
