Job Description
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify identity using proper protocols, explain the procedure to reduce anxiety, and answer questions.
- Sample Collection: Perform blood draws (venipuncture, fingersticks, heel sticks) on patients of all ages.
- Sample Management: Accurately label, process, and store specimens (centrifugation,, if required) before they are sent to the laboratory.
- Safety & Sanitation: Adhere to strict infection control, biohazard disposal, and safety standards (PPE usage) to prevent contamination.
- Administrative Duties: Enter patient data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR/LIMS), update records, and maintain accurate logs.
- Equipment Maintenance: Sterilize, maintain, and inventory phlebotomy equipment, needles, and test tubes.
