Job Location - Bavla Ahmedabad -Gujarat

Position Overview:

The Senior Fitter will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all mechanical equipment and utilities within the ice cream production facility. The role involves hands-on maintenance, repair, and installation of processing and packaging machinery to support uninterrupted production operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as mix plants, continuous freezers, homogenizers, pasteurizers, and filling & packing machines.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Oversee installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machinery and plant systems.
• Ensure regular inspection, lubrication, and calibration of plant equipment as per maintenance schedules.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, machine history cards, and breakdown reports.
• Coordinate with the Electrical and Refrigeration teams for integrated equipment performance.
• Monitor and guide junior technicians during daily maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, GHP, and workplace safety standards applicable to the food industry.
• Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts and liaise with vendors for mechanical components.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for enhancing equipment reliability and plant efficiency.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in ice cream or dairy plants.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, dismantling, and assembling mechanical components.
• Understanding of refrigeration systems, compressors, and conveyor mechanisms (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
