Mechanical Service Engineer

1. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on:

• Power presses & deep drawing machines
• CNC spinning / necking machines
• Welding machines (TIG/MIG/laser)
• Trimming & threading machines
• Surface finishing & polishing machines

Reduce machine breakdowns and downtime

Develop and follow maintenance schedules

Replace worn-out components (bearings, belts, hydraulic seals, motors)

2. Troubleshooting & Breakdown HandlingDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults

• Respond quickly to production breakdowns
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Implement corrective and preventive actions
• Maintain minimal production loss during failures

• Responsibilities:

Ensure smooth operation of:

• Conveyors
• Automation systems
• PLC-controlled equipment
• Coordinate with production supervisors
• Improve machine efficiency (OEE – Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
• Modify machines for better productivity

4. Electrical & Automation Support

Maintain motors, drives (VFDs), control panels

• Troubleshoot PLC systems
• Monitor sensors and safety interlocks
• Update electrical diagrams
• Ensure proper earthing and electrical safety compliance

5. Safety & ComplianceEnsure machines comply with safety standards

• Conduct safety audits
• Maintain emergency systems (E-stops, interlocks)
• Ensure compliance with:
• ISO standards
• Factory safety regulations
• Environmental norms

6. Documentation & ReportingMaintain maintenance logs

• Track spare parts inventory
• Prepare downtime reports
• Plan annual maintenance budgets
• Maintain equipment history records

7. Continuous ImprovementImplement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

• Suggest cost-saving improvements
• Reduce energy consumption
• Improve machine lifespan
• Participate in Kaizen & Lean initiatives

8. Team & Vendor Management Supervise maintenance technicians

• Train operators on basic machine care
• Coordinate with external vendors
• Manage spare parts procurement
