A Paint Shop Lead is one of the most integral leaders in our Production & Manufacturing function. The role requires ensuring consistent quality, optimising processes, and enabling operational efficiency. Core accountability involves managing end-to-end paint operations, leading a skilled workforce, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. 

 

Your responsibilities 

• Manage day-to-day operations of Paint Shop to meet output, quality, and delivery targets 

• Implement quality assurance processes and meet OEM/industry standards 

• Drive defect reduction, process optimisation, and continuous improvement 

• Ensure smooth equipment functioning through preventive maintenance 

• Promote workplace safety and environmental compliance 

• Lead, guide, and develop paint shop teams for sustained performance 

• Control operational costs while improving efficiency 

• Report KPIs including FPY, paint consumption, rejections, downtime, and manpower productivity 

• Act as a key link between Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams 

• Introduce innovative practices for productivity, energy saving, and sustainability 

 

What you bring 

Technical Skills: 
 

• Education: B.E./B. Tech/Diploma in Paint Technology 

• Experience: 10–15 years in Paint Shop operations, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role 

• Industry Preference: Automotive, Heavy Engineering or similar 

• Expertise in industrial paint processes (wet paint, industrial coatings, etc.) 

• Strong process knowledge, including pretreatment, primer, topcoat, and testing methods 

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM practices 

• Hands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance of paint equipment 

• Understanding of ISO/TS, IATF, and customer-specific quality standards
