Job Description – Senior Backend Engineer (E-Commerce / Marketplace)

We are rebuilding our existing PHP-based e-commerce / marketplace platform into a modern, scalable architecture. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can take strong ownership of backend development and play a key role in platform modernization.

Responsibilities:

• Rebuild and migrate backend services from the existing PHP system
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable REST APIs
• Handle core workflows: orders, payments, vendors, logistics & delivery
• Ensure backend performance, security, and scalability
• Work closely with frontend, mobile, and QA teams
• Maintain technical documentation and share regular progress updates

Mandatory Skills:

• Node.js (Express or NestJS)

• REST API development

• MySQL or PostgreSQL

• AWS cloud services

• Git (company-managed repositories)

Candidate Requirements

• Strong backend development experience

• Good system design and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently with high ownership

• Comfortable working without a CTO
