Cath Lab Technician

Job Purpose

The Cath Lab Technician ensures accurate monitoring, patient safety, and technical support during invasive cardiac procedures, contributing to high-quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Prepare and maintain the catheterization lab before, during, and after procedures.

·       Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures (e.g., angiograms, stent placements, pacemaker implantations).

·       Monitor and record patient vitals and hemodynamic data throughout procedures.

·       Operate specialized equipment such as fluoroscopy machines, pressure injectors, and EKG monitors.

·       Maintain a sterile environment in accordance with infection control protocols.

·       Safely handle and manage catheters, guidewires, and contrast agents.

·       Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and patient data in electronic medical records.

·       Provide pre- and post-procedural care to patients under supervision.

·       Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.

·       Respond promptly to emergency situations such as Code Blue or STEMI alerts as part of the Cath Lab team.

Job Specifications:

·       Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or related allied health field.

·       Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in managing similar roles in hospitals

·       Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating Cath Lab imaging, diagnostic, and monitoring systems.

·       Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in high-pressure situations.

·       Communication Skills: Good command over English, Kannada. Ability to resolve problems through effective communication
