Job Description: Credit Control / Collection Executive

Position Summary

We are looking for a results-driven Collection Executive to support our debt recovery and credit control operations. The role involves contacting individuals and businesses with outstanding payments, ensuring timely recovery, maintaining accurate records, and achieving 100% collection targets while maintaining professionalism and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contact customers and businesses via phone, email, or in-person visits to follow up on outstanding payments.
2. Build and maintain effective communication with debtors to ensure regular follow-ups and payment commitments.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities, payment plans, and debtor interactions.
4. Track and monitor payment schedules to ensure adherence to agreed payment plans.
5. Provide regular status updates to management regarding collection progress and potential risks.
6. Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Accounts, Operations) to resolve billing issues or disputes.
7. Ensure all collection activities comply with legal regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
8. Handle customer queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and customer-focused manner.
9. Maintain confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive financial and customer information.
10. Identify process gaps and suggest improvements to enhance recovery rates and reduce overdue accounts.

Requirements & Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
2. Proven experience as a Collection Executive, Credit Control Executive, or Debt Collector, preferably in finance, healthcare, or recovery services.
3. Good understanding of debt collection practices, regulations, and compliance requirements.
4. Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with empathy and professionalism.
6. Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
7. Comfortable using computer systems, databases, and collection tools.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
9. Target-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving or exceeding collection goals.
10. Experience with CRM software is an added advantage.
