Commercial Cab Driver

Job Summary

A Cab Driver is responsible for transporting passengers safely, efficiently, and courteously to their chosen destinations. They must know local roads and traffic patterns, maintain the cab’s condition, handle fares and payments correctly, and deliver great customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Pick up passengers at requested time and location.

Safely transport passengers to destinations through the most efficient and legal routes.

Assist passengers with luggage or special needs (e.g. the elderly, disabled).

Keep the cab clean, both inside and out; ensure regular maintenance checks (tires, lights, brakes, fluid levels).

Report any vehicle problems or accidents to management immediately.

Ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for each shift.

Follow all traffic rules, safety regulations, and company policies.

Maintain a record of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, working hours, and earnings.

Provide courteous customer service, greeting passengers, ensuring comfort, addressing complaints politely or escalating when needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle type.

Clean driving record; no history of major traffic violations.

Good knowledge of local roads / geography.

Basic navigation skills; familiarity with GPS or map‐reading.

Good communication skills; ability to interact politely with passengers from different backgrounds.

Physically fit; able to sit for long periods and assist with luggage.

Punctual, reliable, honest.
