Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and existing client visit.
  • Direct Selling & Presentations: Conduct in-person product demonstrations and deliver tailored sales pitches to showcase value propositions to prospects.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Handle customer objections, negotiate pricing or contract terms, and finalize deals to meet monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and high customer satisfaction.
  • Territory Management: Plan daily travel routes and client visits efficiently to maximize market coverage within an assigned geographic area.
  • Reporting & CRM Updates: Maintain accurate records of all field activities, daily visits, and sales progress in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho).

  • Communication & Interpersonal: Ability to simplify complex ideas, practice active listening, and build rapport with diverse audiences.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: Skilled in guiding buyers from interest to action and achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Time Management & Resilience: High self-motivation to handle frequent rejection and the discipline to manage a busy travel schedule independently.
  • Technological Proficiency: Ability to use digital tools, including CRM apps, route optimization software, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Product Expertise: Deep understanding of product features, industry trends, and competitor offerings to act as a "trusted advisor".

Typical Requirements (2025)

  • Education: Usually a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; some entry-level roles may accept 10+2 with experience.
  • Mobility: Possession of a valid driver's license and a vehicle (typically a two-wheeler) is often mandatory for commuting.
  • Experience: 1–3 years in sales or customer-facing roles is standard, though freshers with strong communication skills are often considered.
