Hardware & Network Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and technically strong Network Engineer with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in networking. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing & switching, troubleshooting, and network security concepts. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Network Implementation & Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other network devices.
• Configure VLANs, routing protocols, and IP addressing schemes.
• Implement LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks.
• Support network expansion and new infrastructure setup.

2. Network Monitoring & Maintenance

• Monitor network performance and ensure uptime and reliability.
• Identify bottlenecks and resolve connectivity issues.
• Perform regular network health checks and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams.

3. Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve network-related issues (LAN/WAN/Internet).
• Provide L2 support for network incidents and escalations.
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN-related issues.
• Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for issue resolution.

4. Network Security

• Configure and manage firewall policies.
• Implement basic network security measures.
• Monitor for unusual network activity.
• Support implementation of VPN and secure remote access solutions.

5. Protocol Knowledge (Must Have)

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP model
• Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, BGP – basic understanding)
• Switching concepts (STP, VLAN, Trunking)
• NAT, ACL, DHCP, DNS
• VPN technologies
• Basic knowledge of network security concepts

6. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain network configuration records.
• Prepare reports on network performance.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Good understanding of LAN, WAN, and wireless networking.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos, or similar devices is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
