Job Description

Role OverviewThe HR Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all human resource functions for the pharmaceutical organization, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, supporting business growth, and driving a high-performance culture aligned with regulatory and ethical standards.


  • Key Responsibilities1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningDevelop and execute recruitment strategies for R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Corporate functions.
  • Manage end-to-end hiring processes including campus hiring and lateral recruitment.
  • Build talent pipelines for critical pharma roles.
  • Partner with department heads for manpower planning.

2. Compliance & Statutory ManagementEnsure compliance with labor laws and pharma industry regulations.

  • Manage statutory requirements including PF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Factory Act compliance, etc.
  • Coordinate audits and maintain documentation as per regulatory standards.

3. Performance ManagementDesign and implement performance appraisal systems.

  • Drive KPI alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitate performance reviews and succession planning.

4. Employee Engagement & RelationsDevelop employee engagement initiatives across manufacturing plants and corporate offices.

  • Handle grievance redressal and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster positive industrial relations (if plant-based role).

5. Learning & DevelopmentIdentify training needs for GMP, compliance, technical skills, and leadership development.

  • Plan training programs aligned with pharma regulatory standards.
  • Monitor training effectiveness.

6. Compensation & BenefitsDesign competitive compensation structures.

  • Manage payroll coordination.
  • Benchmark salary structures within pharma industry standards.

7. HR Operations & Policy FrameworkDevelop and update HR policies aligned with pharma regulations

  • Maintain HRIS systems and employee records.
  • Drive digitization of HR processes where applicable.
  • Required QualificationsMBA/PGDM in Human Resources.
  • 4 - 6 years of HR experience.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing / formulation / API company preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Factory Act and labor compliance.
  • Experience handling blue-collar and white-collar workforce (if plant-based role).
  • Key CompetenciesStrong knowledge of pharma regulatory environment.
  • Leadership & stakeholder management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.
  • Preferred ExperienceExposure to GMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience in plant HR management.
