Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of both Indian and Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles. You will assist our chefs in daily food preparation, ensure the kitchen is clean and organized, and help maintain smooth operations during busy service hours.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation (Indian Cuisine):

• Prepare base ingredients, including peeling, chopping, and grinding garlic, ginger, and onions.
• Assist in preparing basic Indian gravies, marinades, and spice blends (masalas).
• Help portion and prep meats and vegetables for the tandoor or curry stations.
• Knead dough for flatbreads like roti, naan, or paratha.

Food Preparation (Chinese Cuisine):

• Precisely chop, julienne, and dice vegetables and meats for quick wok stir-frying.
• Prepare and portion basic Chinese sauces, broths, and marinades.
• Pre-cook and portion staples such as noodles and fried rice ingredients.
• Assist with prepping ingredients for dim sum, spring rolls, or dumplings.

General Kitchen Duties:

• Maintain Hygiene: Wash cutting boards, utensils, pots, and pans. Sanitize workstations before, during, and after shifts.
• Stock Management: Assist with unloading deliveries, organizing the pantry, and rotating stock (FIFO method) in the refrigerators and freezers.
• Waste Management: Empty trash bins regularly and ensure proper disposal of kitchen waste.
• Support Chefs: Follow instructions directly from the Head Chef or Line Cooks to ensure food is prepared promptly and accurately.
