Job Title: Metallurgical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Metallurgical Laboratory Technician to join our quality control/R&D team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical analysis (BSc Chemistry) and mechanical testing (Diploma in Mechanical Eng.), responsible for testing, analyzing, and evaluating metals and alloys to ensure they meet industrial standards. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Sample Preparation: Cut, mount, grind, polish, and etch metal samples for microscopic examination and hardness testing.
• Chemical Analysis: Perform wet chemistry techniques and titration to evaluate cleaning solutions, plating baths, and alloy compositions.
• Mechanical Testing: Conduct destructive and non-destructive tests, including tensile, bend, impact, and hardness tests (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers).
• Microstructural Analysis: Operate optical microscopes and digital image analysis software to check for defects, grain size, and structural inconsistencies.
• Documentation & Reporting: Record test data accurately, generate detailed lab reports, and issue test certificates.
• Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain lab equipment, including spectrometers, testers, and polishing machines.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals and operating heavy machinery.
