Labour Helper/Mazdoor

Role Summary

The Helper cum Miller is responsible for supporting machining operations in the machine shop and performing general helper activities. The role requires flexibility to assist operators and, on demand, operate milling, drilling, and tapping machines while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist machine operators in day-to-day activities.

Perform material handling, job loading/unloading, deburring and cleaning.

Support tool and fixture handling.

Operate milling machines for basic operations (slotting, facing, keyways).

Perform drilling and tapping operations.

Understand basic engineering drawings.

Measure components using Vernier Caliper and basic instruments.

Maintain dimensional accuracy for basic machining.

Assist in setup and changeover activities.

Maintain 5S and safety standards.

Support machine cleaning and maintenance.

Maintain job records and assist in documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Basic knowledge of machining processes.

Ability to handle both helper and operator roles.

Understanding of basic drawings.

Familiarity with measuring instruments.

Basic knowledge of cutting tools.

Good physical stamina and safety awareness.

Qualification

ITI (Fitter / Machinist / Turner / Welder) or equivalent

Experience Requirement

Fresher / 1–2 Years: Helper / Trainee

2–4 Years: Helper cum Operator

4+ Years: Skilled Multi-machine Operator
