Job Title: Maintenance Manager / Head – Maintenance

Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager / Head is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of equipment, utilities, and facilities. This role leads the maintenance team, implements preventive and corrective maintenance programs, controls maintenance costs, and ensures compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules.
• Ensure timely repair and upkeep of equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Minimise downtime and improve equipment efficiency and asset life.

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, train, and supervise maintenance engineers, technicians, and support staff.
• Allocate work, set priorities, and monitor team performance.
• Ensure skill development and adherence to SOPs and best practices.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget.
• Control maintenance expenses, spares inventory, and vendor costs.
• Evaluate cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Identify, negotiate, and manage external vendors and service providers.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement safety standards, risk assessments, and audits in maintenance operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, reports, and documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Analyse breakdown trends and implement root cause analysis (RCA).
• Recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and technology improvements.

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with production, quality, admin, and other departments.
• Provide regular reports on maintenance KPIs, downtime, and equipment performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Any Bachelor’s degree.
• 5-8 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or head role
• Experience in manufacturing / facility / plant maintenance preferred
