Job Description
A Mechanical Design Engineer designs, develops, and tests mechanical systems, components, and tools using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD). They are responsible for taking projects from concept through prototyping to manufacturing, ensuring designs meet safety, cost, and performance standards. Key tasks include 3D modeling, GD&T, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create 2D/3D models and engineering drawings for mechanical systems.
- Prototyping & Testing: Build, test, and analyze prototypes to ensure performance specs are met.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and technical documentation.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform calculations, simulations, and simulations (FEA/CFD) to validate designs.
