Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating technical drawings, performing engineering calculations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).

Create 2D drawings and 3D models with appropriate tolerances and GD&T.

Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis (FEA, stress, thermal, etc.).

Develop prototypes and support testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.

Select appropriate materials based on application, cost, and durability.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and design reports.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

1–5+ years of experience in mechanical design (industry-dependent).

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD / CATIA).

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, etc.).

Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.

Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.

Knowledge of ISO, ASME, or other relevant industry standards.

Experience working in automotive / aerospace / industrial equipment / consumer products (customize as needed).

Project management experience is a plus.
