Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Factory Operations & Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to handle machine maintenance, production supervision, and process improvement at our solar water heater manufacturing unit. The role requires hands-on involvement on the shop floor to ensure machines run smoothly, production targets are met, and quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Maintenance

Maintain and repair all factory machines (welding, rolling, PUF, cutting, machining, etc.).

Plan and carry out preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.

Identify machine faults, guide repairs, and coordinate part replacement.

Reduce machine downtime and improve efficiency.

Assist in fabrication or modification of basic machines and fixtures if required.

Production Supervision

Supervise daily production activities on the shop floor.

Ensure production targets are achieved as per plan.

Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and improve cycle times.

Allocate manpower and machines efficiently.

Ensure correct usage of tools, machines, and materials.

Quality & Process Control

Ensure products meet company quality standards.

Monitor welding quality, assembly fitment, finishing, and final output.

Reduce rework, rejection, and material wastage.

Manpower & Safety

Guide and supervise operators, helpers, and technicians.

Train workers on correct machine operation and basic maintenance.

Ensure safety rules are followed and PPE is used at all times.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Reporting & Coordination

Maintain daily production and maintenance records.

Report machine issues, breakdowns, and improvements to management.

Coordinate with purchase and stores for spare parts and consumables.

Requirements:

Education: Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 1–5 years in factory or manufacturing environment (freshers with strong practical knowledge may be considered).

Skills:

Strong knowledge of machines, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.

Hands-on approach and willingness to work on the shop floor.

Basic understanding of production planning and quality control.
