Job Description
- Key Responsibilities1. Transcribing Medical DictationsListen to audio recordings of physicians or healthcare providers.
- Accurately type the spoken words into written reports (e.g., discharge summaries, patient histories, operative notes).
- Use proper medical terminology, abbreviations, and formats.
- 2. Editing and ProofreadingReview and correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of medical information.
- Edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software (in modern transcription).
- 3. Ensuring ConfidentialityMaintain strict confidentiality of patient information (HIPAA compliance in the U.S. or similar privacy laws elsewhere).
- Securely store and transmit reports.
- 4. Formatting and Submitting ReportsFormat documents according to hospital or clinic standards.
- Submit completed reports to physicians for review and signature.
- 5. Research and VerificationVerify unfamiliar medical terms, drug names, or procedures using reliable medical references.
- Ensure correct spelling and context of all terminology.
- 6. CommunicationClarify unclear dictations with physicians or supervisors when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to maintain record accuracy.
- 7. Quality AssuranceFollow quality control procedures.
- Meet turnaround time and accuracy standards (usually 98% or higher).

- Strong English grammar and typing skills
