MEP Engineer

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of building systems. They ensure that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components are integrated seamlessly into construction projects, meeting safety, efficiency, and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Planning
• Develop detailed MEP system designs for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Coordinate with architects and civil engineers to integrate systems into building plans.
• Project Execution
• Supervise installation of MEP systems on-site.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety standards.
• Coordination
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, and consultants to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
• Testing & Commissioning
• Perform system testing and quality checks.
• Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems before handover.
• Documentation
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and compliance documents.
• Maintain records of inspections, approvals, and modifications.
• Sustainability
• Recommend energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Implement green building practices where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Professional certifications (LEED, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
• Familiarity with local building codes and international standards.

Skills Required

• Technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in MEP design and execution.
• Prior work in construction, real estate, or infrastructure projects
