Production Manager

Job Title: Production Manager

Department: Production

Reports To: Operations Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose

To manage day-to-day factory operations and ensure smooth, safe, and timely production of Lab glassware, Lab reactors, vessels, and process equipment as per quality standards and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Planning

• Plan and execute daily and weekly production activities.
• Ensure availability of drawings, materials, manpower, and machines.
• Monitor production progress and meet delivery targets.

Shop-Floor Control

• Supervise fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and testing work.
• Guide supervisors, foremen, glass blowers, operators, and other technicians .
• Solve routine shop-floor issues related to manpower, machines, or materials.

Quality Support

• Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and instructions.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and testing.
• Control rework, rejections, and NCRs.

Safety & Discipline

• Ensure use of PPE and safe working practices on the shop floor.
• Maintain discipline and housekeeping in the plant.
• Follow factory safety rules and statutory requirements.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with engineering, stores, quality, and dispatch teams.
• Maintain basic production records and daily reports.
• Update management on production status and issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in reactor, pressure vessel, or fabrication industry.
• Hands-on shop-floor experience is essential.

Technical Knowledge

• Basic understanding of production work/ mechanical equipment’s
• Familiar with shop floor practices and quality requirements.
