Job Summary:

The Production Head will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure that production targets are achieved efficiently, safely, and within quality standards. The role involves optimizing productivity, minimizing costs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and leading the production team effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement production plans based on project schedules and client requirements.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
• Monitor workflow and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.

2. Quality Control

• Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC team to minimize rework and rejection.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.

3. Manpower & Team Management

• Supervise production supervisors, engineers, and shop-floor staff.
• Plan manpower allocation and shift scheduling.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training where required.

4. Cost & Resource Management

• Optimize material usage and reduce wastage.
• Monitor production costs and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely availability of materials.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to safety norms and company policies.
• Promote a safe working environment on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

6. Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal machine downtime.
• Plan preventive maintenance schedules.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare MIS reports on production performance.
• Maintain records of output, downtime, manpower utilization, and wastage.
• Present production status reports to management regularly.

Qualifications & Experience:

• BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering.
• Minimum 8–15 years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing industry.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a senior leadership role in production.

Required Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and shop-floor operations.
• Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
