Purchase Executive / Buyer

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to oversee both domestic and international procurement of raw materials and products related to 3D printing and composite manufacturing.

The role includes sourcing and onboarding new vendors, conducting periodic vendor evaluations, performing cost estimation and analysis, coordinating imports, and ensuring timely material availability. The candidate must ensure strict compliance with quality requirements and documentation standards in line with ISO and AS9100 regulations.

Job Description

5.1) Procurement & Vendor Management

1. Manage the complete procurement lifecycle — from issuing RFPs and RFQs, evaluating and comparing quotations, and negotiating commercial terms, to releasing purchase orders, following up with suppliers, and tracking deliveries to closure.
2. Identify, develop, and manage vendors for composite materials, industrial consumables, machining and fabrication services, 3D printing requirements, as well as electrical and mechanical components, ensuring adherence to quality standards, cost effectiveness, and timely supply.
3. Collaborate closely with the Projects team and cross-functional teams (CFT) to understand technical and commercial requirements, and execute procurement with accurate specifications, quantities, and lead times.

5.2) Costing & Technical Understanding

1. Develop a strong understanding of various Bills of Materials (BOMs) used in composite manufacturing, metal tooling, machine building, and electronic control systems.
2. Review and validate supplier quotations against BOM requirements to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and cost justification.
3. Gain working knowledge of different 3D printing technologies and evaluate vendor pricing for technical and commercial alignment.
4. Conduct detailed cost estimation for metal machining, including raw material costs, machining time, tooling, finishing processes, and tolerance requirements.
5. Analyze composite material costing, covering carbon fiber, resin systems, consumables, process losses, and yield optimization calculations.

5.3) International Procurement & Logistics

1. Coordinate with OEMs for technical clarifications, quotations, order processing, and delivery follow-ups.
2. Manage import customs clearance through Custom House Agent (CHA) coordination, document verification, HS code compliance, duty payment, and timely release of materials from port/airport.

5.4) Quality & Compliance (AS9100 & ISO)

1. Support NPD sourcing by identifying qualified suppliers, obtaining CoC and material test certificates, and coordinating sample submissions.
2. Coordinate with Stores and Quality teams for GRN, traceability, batch/lot control, and resolution of shortages or rejections.
3. Maintain and update purchase records, AVL, rate contracts, and procurement documentation in ERP as per AS9100 requirements ensuring audit readiness.

5.5) Planning & Expediting

1. Plan material procurement based on production schedules and forecasts, ensuring optimum inventory levels while preventing shortages and excess stock.
2. Manage urgent or breakdown requirements by expediting procurement and arranging priority shipments to avoid production stoppage.

Educational Qualification

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain / related fields. 

Required Skills

1. Ability to handle multiple Vendors, achieving the target price through negotiation & follow-up. 
2. Knowledge on Import of goods & logistics 
3. To adapt to the company's ERP software and to become proficient in 3 months.
4. Knowledge of ISO, AS9100 documentation & traceability
5. Strong coordination and communication ability
6. Advanced knowledge in MS Office, MS Word, MS Power point and similar softwares.  

Experience:

1. 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchase functions in a relevant manufacturing industry . 
2. It is preferred to have candidates with prior experience in working in a composite Industry.
