Quality Head

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Head will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system in compliance with industry standards such as CQI-11 (Zinc Plating) and CQI-12 (CED Coating). This role ensures that all products meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. The individual will lead a team of quality professionals and interface with cross-functional departments including production, engineering, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System:

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of CQI-11 and CQI-12 standards.
• Lead internal and external audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer audits).
• Maintain PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC documentation.
• Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.

Process Control & Monitoring:

• Ensure consistent process control in CED and Zinc Plating lines.
• Review process parameters, chemical bath compositions, and coating thickness reports.
• Identify deviations and initiate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage lab testing for coating adherence, corrosion resistance, and film thickness.

Customer Interaction & Complaint Handling:

• Address customer complaints using structured problem-solving tools (8D, Fishbone, etc.).
• Lead the team in preparing and submitting CAPA reports to customers.
• Act as the quality representative during customer audits and technical discussions.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor the QA team including engineers, inspectors, and lab technicians.
• Conduct training on quality tools, CQI standards, and customer-specific requirements.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and defect prevention.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure full compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for traceability and compliance.
• Interface with external agencies for certifications and audits.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of CQI-11 and CQI-12 guidelines and audit procedures.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality tools.
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, 8D, and FMEA.
• Hands-on experience in CED Coating and Zinc Plating process controls.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Quality Management Systems (QMS) software.
