Job Description – Sales Executive

Job Title: Sales Executive

Location: Bangalore / Field-based

Department: Sales

Reports To: Sales Manager / Head of Sales



Role Summary


The Sales Executive will be responsible for generating new business, managing existing customer relationships, and achieving assigned revenue targets. The role involves field sales, client meetings, product presentations, negotiations, and coordination with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.


The ideal candidate is target-driven, comfortable with B2B selling, and eager to grow in the metals/industrial sector.



Key Responsibilities


Sales & Business Development

• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

• Identify and develop new customers through cold calling, referrals, and site visits.

• Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline.

• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close deals.

• Upsell and cross-sell products to existing customers.


Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain strong relationships with customers and procurement teams.

• Understand client requirements and recommend suitable products.

• Handle customer queries related to pricing, specifications, delivery timelines, and quality.

• Ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.


Market & Product Knowledge

• Maintain good understanding of metal products, grades, applications, and pricing trends.

• Track competitor activity and share market insights with management.


Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with Operations and Logistics for order execution and deliveries.

• Work with Finance on invoicing, collections, and credit approvals.

• Maintain accurate customer data and sales activity in CRM.


Reporting

• Submit daily activity reports and weekly sales updates.

• Provide monthly forecasts and pipeline reports.



Key Performance Indicators

• Revenue achievement vs target

• Number of new customers onboarded

• Deal conversion rate

• Customer retention

• Activity metrics (calls, meetings, site visits)

• CRM accuracy and reporting discipline



Required Skills & Qualifications


Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred


Experience

• 1–5 years of B2B sales experience (industrial / metals / manufacturing preferred)


Skills

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Customer-focused mindset

• Ability to work independently in field sales

• Basic computer skills (Excel, CRM, email)

• Willingness to travel locally
