We are expanding into lithium-ion battery pack manufacturing and are looking for skilled professionals to drive innovation, quality, and excellence in our new line of business.

Job Purpose:

The Application Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, testing, integration, and customization of lithium-ion battery packs for various applications. The role involves close collaboration with customers, R&D, production, and quality teams to deliver solutions that meet technical, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Support & Customer Solutions

• Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications for lithium battery systems.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for lithium battery products.
• Conduct product demonstrations, feasibility studies, and application validation.

2. BMS Integration & Communication Protocols

• Design, integrate, and validate Battery Management Systems (BMS) for various lithium battery configurations.
• Work with CAN protocol (J1939, CANopen) and other communication interfaces for BMS integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve BMS-related issues in collaboration with hardware and firmware teams.

3. Product Customization & Testing

• Customize battery pack designs for different applications:
• Industrial Batteries (material handling, forklifts, UPS)
• EV Batteries (2W, 3W, 4W, commercial vehicles)
• Stationary Storage (renewable integration, backup systems)
• Conduct performance, safety, and lifecycle testing of battery systems.

4. Compliance & Certification

• Ensure battery systems meet relevant standards and certifications:
• AIS-156, CMVR, and other automotive regulations
• ARAI, ICAT, and other homologation requirements
• International standards: UN38.3, IEC 62133, ISO 12405, etc.
• Coordinate with certification agencies and internal teams for testing and documentation.

5. Documentation & Training

• Prepare technical datasheets, application notes, and user manuals.
• Train internal teams (sales, service) and customers on product features and best practices.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, production, quality, and purchase departments for seamless project execution.
• Provide feedback from the field to improve product design and performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in a lithium battery manufacturing unit.
• Strong experience in BMS integration, CAN protocol, and battery communication systems.
• Knowledge of lithium battery chemistries (LiFePO4, NMC, LTO), cell selection, and pack design.
• Familiarity with industrial batteries, material handling batteries, and EV batteries.
• Working knowledge of certification processes (ARAI, ICAT, AIS-156).

Preferred:

• Experience with battery testing equipment (cyclers, environmental chambers, data loggers).
• Understanding of thermal management, safety circuits, and protection mechanisms.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation software (MATLAB, Simulink) is a plus.
