Warehouse Manager

Job Overview

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, dispatch, and housekeeping. The role ensures efficient space utilization, accurate inventory records, timely order fulfillment, safety compliance, and coordination with logistics and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

• Manage day-to-day warehouse activities including inbound, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials and finished goods.
• Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization.

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP/WMS systems.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock audits, and ensure FIFO/FEFO practices.
• Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, or losses.

Team Management

• Supervise warehouse supervisors, executives, helpers, and contract labor.
• Plan manpower, allocate duties, and monitor productivity.
• Train staff on SOPs, safety standards, and material handling procedures.

Dispatch & Logistics Coordination

• Ensure timely dispatch of goods as per delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with transporters, logistics partners, and internal teams.
• Prepare and verify dispatch documents including invoices, delivery challans, and e-way bills.

Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

• Ensure adherence to safety norms, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain proper housekeeping standards (5S) within the warehouse.
• Ensure compliance with audits and internal controls.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Develop and improve warehouse SOPs and processes.
• Track and report key warehouse KPIs such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rate, and turnaround time.
• Implement cost-control and efficiency improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of warehouse and inventory management
• Experience with ERP / WMS systems
• Leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO, and inventory control methods
• Safety and compliance awareness
• Good communication and coordination skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or any related field
• 5–10 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role
• Experience in manufacturing / distribution / FMCG / retail warehouse preferred
