Role: Mechanical Assembly Technician

Role Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Assembly Technician to support the build, integration, and testing of robotic systems and automated machines. The role involves assembling precision mechanical components, working with sub-assemblies, periodic maintenance of machines on-site and collaborating closely with design and electrical teams to ensure high-quality builds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assembly & Build:
• Assemble mechanical systems including frames, actuators, linear systems, enclosures, and fixtures
• Work with components like:
• Bearings, shafts, couplings
• Lead screws, linear rails
• Motors (stepper/servo)
• Sheet metal & machined parts
• Follow engineering drawings, CAD references, and SOPs
• Integration Support:
• Assist in integrating mechanical systems with:
• Work closely with engineers during prototyping and iteration
• Quality & Precision:
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment
• Identify and correct assembly issues (misalignment, tolerance stack-up, vibration, etc.)
• Maintain clean and organized builds (important for food/robotics applications)
• Testing & Debugging:
• Assist in initial testing and troubleshooting
• Identify mechanical faults such as:
• Looseness
• Noise
• Friction or binding
• Suggest practical improvements from a buildability perspective
• Documentation & Maintenance:
• Maintain assembly checklists and logs
• Support creation/improvement of assembly SOPs
• Maintain tools and workstation discipline
