Job Description
- 1. Food Preparation & CookingPrepare, season, and cook authentic Chinese dishes (e.g., noodles, fried rice, dim sum, stir-fries, sauces, soups).
- Follow traditional cooking methods (wok cooking, steaming, deep-frying, roasting).
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
- Develop and try new Chinese recipes to expand the menu.
- 2. Kitchen OperationsOrganize and manage the Chinese section of the kitchen.
- Supervise junior chefs, kitchen helpers, and train them in Chinese cooking techniques.
- Maintain stock levels of Chinese ingredients (soy sauce, noodles, spices, sauces, dumpling skins, etc.).
- Control wastage and ensure cost-effective use of materials.
- 3. Quality & HygieneMaintain food quality, freshness, and authenticity.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients (dry, chilled, and frozen).
- Follow hygiene, health, and safety standards (HACCP / FSSAI guidelines).
- Check cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- 4. Customer & Menu FocusAdapt dishes to customer preferences while keeping authenticity.
- Support menu planning, daily specials, and festive Chinese cuisines.
- Ensure timely preparation during peak hours without compromising quality.
- 5. Teamwork & Reporting Report to Head Chef/Executive Chef about daily operations and issues.
- Cooperate with service staff for smooth kitchen-to-table delivery.
- Handle customer feedback (through management) to improve dishes and service.
