Barista

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all hot and cold beverages on the Venn menu with consistency and accuracy (espresso-based drinks, pour-overs if introduced, signature drinks, etc.).
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment efficiently and safely.
• Maintain high standards of quality for coffee, milk texture, taste, and presentation.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and SOPs for all drinks.
• Handle customer orders with friendly, professional service.
• Ensure the coffee bar is clean, stocked, and organized at all times.
• Assist in daily opening and closing duties.
• Monitor inventory for coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables; report shortages to the manager.
• Assist with training junior baristas when required.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards as per café guidelines.
• Support café operations beyond the bar (floor support, packing, basic cashiering) during rush hours.

Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months–2 years of barista experience preferred (but passion and willingness to learn also considered).
• Strong understanding of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and basic coffee brewing principles.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and POS handling skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
