Job Description

Job Summary:

The Body Shop Advisor is responsible for providing a high level of customer service, coordinating repair activities, and ensuring smooth workflow in the body shop. The advisor will act as a liaison between customers, the body shop team, and insurance companies, ensuring that repairs are completed in a timely manner and customers are kept informed throughout the process. They will oversee the entire customer journey from initial vehicle assessment to final delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Interaction & Service:
  • Greet customers and assist them in assessing the damage to their vehicles.
  • Explain the repair process to customers, ensuring transparency and setting proper expectations.
  • Provide detailed estimates of repair costs, including labor, parts, and additional services.
  • Schedule appointments and ensure customers receive timely updates on repair status.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns professionally.
  1. Repair Coordination:
  • Collaborate with body shop technicians to ensure accurate and timely repair of vehicles.
  • Monitor the progress of repairs and communicate any changes or delays to customers.
  • Ensure that the necessary parts are ordered and delivered on time.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure repairs meet industry and company standards before returning the vehicle to the customer.
  1. Insurance Claims Handling:
  • Work with insurance companies to ensure claims are processed efficiently.
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation to insurance adjusters.
  • Assist customers in navigating the insurance claim process.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate records of repair orders, parts inventory, and customer communications.
  • Process payments, issue invoices, and manage customer accounts.
  • Update and maintain the body shop management system, ensuring all data is current.
  1. Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with technicians, parts staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide feedback to the team regarding customer satisfaction, issues, or improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Education: ITI/Diploma - Automobile/Mechanical Engg; Associate degree in automotive technology or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Previous experience in an automotive body shop or related role (preferred).
  • Skills:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of vehicle body repair processes and insurance procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use body shop management software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
