Job Description
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead our sales function and drive growth. You will be responsible for acquiring, converting, and retaining learners across multiple segments - from students preparing for exams to working professionals upgrading their skills. This is a high-ownership role where your success directly impacts Supernova’s growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and manage a sales team of 8–10 executives to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
● Own the complete sales cycle—from acquisition to conversion and retention.
● Drive high-volume daily sales across learner segments: students, job seekers, and professionals.
● Build and optimize scalable, data-driven sales processes for higher conversion and retention.
● Motivate and coach the team to deliver consistent results aligned with KPIs.
● Launch and experiment with new initiatives to improve outreach and closing efficiency.
● Represent sales in cross-functional forums for alignment with product and marketing.
● Negotiate and close deals, ensuring long-term customer value.
The ideal candidate
● Proven track record in end-to-end sales and business development (EdTech a plus).
● 3+ years of managerial experience leading sales teams, ideally in high-growth startups.
● Strong background in volume-driven sales with daily targets.
● Consistently achieved or exceeded quotas and KPIs.
● Proficiency in Tamil required; multilingual ability is a plus.
● Energetic, resilient, and ambitious hustler with a passion for winning.
● Experimental and data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
● Skilled in negotiation, communication, and relationship-building.
