Cashier

The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for billing, payment handling, and customer interaction at the self-service counter. The role ensures fast, accurate transactions, proper order communication with the kitchen, and a smooth customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Payments

Operate POS system for quick and accurate billing

Accept payments via cash, UPI, cards, and wallets

Issue bills and tokens/order numbers to customers

Maintain correct cash balance and daily closing reports

Order Handling

Take customer orders clearly and enter correctly in POS

Coordinate with kitchen staff for order preparation

Call out order numbers and hand over food if required

Customer Service

Greet customers politely and handle queries

Explain menu items, prices, and offers

Handle basic complaints and escalate issues when needed

Counter & Hygiene

Keep cashier counter clean and organized

Follow FSSAI hygiene and safety standards

Ensure menus and display boards are updated

Reporting & Records

Prepare daily sales summary

Report shortages, excess cash, or POS issues

Support inventory or token tracking if assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Basic education (10th / 12th pass preferred)

Ability to handle cash and digital payments

Basic computer/POS knowledge

Good communication skills (local language + basic English)

Honest, alert, and customer-friendly

Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Experience

0–2 years experience as cashier preferred

Freshers can apply (training will be provided)

Working Conditions

Standing for long hours

Shift work including weekends and holidays

High customer interaction during peak hours
