Job Title: Catering Manager

Department: Operations / Catering

Location: ( Bangalore )

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: Operations Head / Business Owner

Job Summary


We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager who can handle complete catering operations for weddings, corporate events, parties, and large gatherings. The candidate should be skilled in client handling, menu planning, costing, staff supervision, vendor coordination, and on-ground execution. The role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage events smoothly with high-quality service.


Key Responsibilities


1) Client Handling & Event Coordination

Handle client meetings and understand event requirements

Finalize event details: menu, service style, guest count, timing, and venue

Coordinate with clients for last-minute changes and special requests

Ensure client satisfaction before, during, and after the event


2) Menu Planning & Costing

Prepare menus based on client budget and preferences

Perform accurate menu costing and maintain profitability

Plan raw material quantities as per pax

Handle live counters, special counters, and premium menu requirements


3) Catering Operations & Execution

Plan and manage complete event execution from start to finish

Ensure timely dispatch of raw material, utensils, and staff

Manage buffet setup, live counters, and food service flow

Coordinate with venue team and other vendors for smooth operations


4) Kitchen, Hygiene & Food Quality

Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff for cooking and preparation

Ensure hygienic cooking practices and food safety standards

Maintain food taste, presentation, and consistency

Ensure hot and fresh food service at the event


5) Team Management & Supervision

Manage chefs, helpers, captains, service boys, and supervisors

Assign duties and ensure discipline and grooming standards

Train staff for customer handling and service etiquette

Ensure proper guest service and quick issue resolution


6) Inventory & Material Management

Maintain event inventory (utensils, crockery, burners, counters, etc.)

Ensure proper loading/unloading checklist and return process

Control breakage, shortage, and wastage

Maintain stock and equipment records


7) Vendor & Purchase Management

Coordinate with suppliers for vegetables, dairy, dry items, etc.

Negotiate rates and ensure quality and timely supply

Handle logistics and transport coordination

Maintain vendor records and payment follow-ups


8) Billing & Reporting

Ensure event billing as per final agreement

Coordinate payment collection and pending dues

Prepare event report: costing, wastage, feedback, and improvements

Submit daily/weekly operations updates to management

Eligibility

Experience: 3–8 years (Catering / Banquet / Event Operations)

Education: Any Graduate (Hotel Management preferred)


Languages: Hindi + Basic English (Preferred)

Must Have: Two-wheeler (Preferred for site visits)
