Job Description

We are seeking a skilled technician to handle the rectification of faulty or poorly performing CCTV systems (including cabling, cameras, recorders, and power supplies) as well as complete new installations. The role requires diagnosing issues in existing setups, repairing/replacing defective components, and deploying new surveillance systems from planning to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Rectification of Existing CCTV Installations:

Diagnose faults in analog, HD-TVI, IP, and hybrid CCTV systems.

  • Identify issues such as no video feed, intermittent recording, power failures, IR cut-off malfunction, image distortion, or network connectivity loss.
  • Rectify cabling problems (damaged coax, Cat5e/6, loose BNC/RJ45 connectors, poor termination).
  • Replace or repair faulty cameras, power supplies, DVR/NVR units, or video baluns.
  • Restore remote viewing functionality (DDNS, port forwarding, P2P setup).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues caused by lightning, power surges, water ingress, or physical damage.

B. New CCTV Installations:

  • Perform site surveys to determine optimal camera placement, coverage, and cable routing.
  • Install IP, analog, or thermal cameras (dome, bullet, PTZ, fisheye) indoors and outdoors.
  • Run, terminate, and test cabling (Cat5e/6, coaxial, fiber optics) with proper cable management.
  • Install and configure DVRs, NVRs, PoE switches, power distribution boxes, and monitor setups.
  • Set up recording schedules, motion detection zones, email alerts, and mobile viewing apps.
  • Integrate CCTV with existing access control or alarm systems where required.
  • Ensure all installations meet local safety and compliance standards (e.g., grounding, weatherproofing, height regulations).

C. Documentation & Testing:

Label all cables and create as-built drawings or system documentation.

  • Conduct final testing: image clarity, night vision, storage calculation, backup testing, and remote access.
  • Provide client training on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain service reports for rectification jobs (fault found, action taken, parts replaced).
