CCTV Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install and set up CCTV cameras, DVRs/NVRs, and related security equipment
• Run, terminate, and manage cabling (coaxial, Cat5/Cat6, power cables)
• Configure network settings for IP cameras, remote access, and mobile viewing
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades
• Diagnose and fix issues such as video loss, camera failure, and connectivity problems
• Integrate CCTV systems with alarms, access control, and other security solutions
• Document installations, configuration details, and service reports
• Provide user training on system operation and monitoring software
• Follow safety standards and maintain proper use of tools and equipment

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of CCTV systems (IP & analog)
• Basic electrical and low-voltage wiring understanding
• Networking skills (IP addressing, routers, switches, PoE systems)
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and layout plans
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Physical fitness for climbing, lifting, and working in tight spaces
