We are looking for skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional products to our community.


Job Summary

The Pastry Chef will be responsible for producing high-quality pastries, cakes, tortes, and specialty German baked goods. This role requires strong technical skill, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience with European or German baked goods and enjoys maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of German pastries and desserts.
  • Produce laminated doughs (croissants, Danish pastries) and traditional German yeast doughs.
  • Decorate cakes, tortes, and pastries with precision and artistic skill.
  • Monitor inventory levels and prepare daily production schedules.
  • Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, portioning, and appearance.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate with bakery kitchen and café staff regarding production needs and special orders.
  • Assist with developing new menu items, seasonal specialties, and promotional pastries.
  • Train or support junior bakers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or in a similar role (experience with German pastries strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough fermentation, and pastry preparation.
  • Ability to follow traditional recipes while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work early-morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with European baking techniques or German-style baking.
  • Cake decorating or chocolate work (BONUS).
  • Ability to develop new pastries or adapt traditional recipes.
  • Basic understanding of café operations and customer preferences.
